Unreal Engine 5 Revealed! | Next-Gen Real-Time Demo Running on PlayStation 5

Unreal Engine 5 empowers artists to achieve unprecedented levels of detail and interactivity, and brings these capabilities within practical reach of teams of all sizes through highly productive tools and content libraries.

Join Technical Director of Graphics Brian Karis and Special Projects Art Director Jerome Platteaux (filmed in March 2020) for an in-depth look at “Lumen in the Land of Nanite” – a real-time demonstration running live on PlayStation 5 showcasing two new core technologies that will debut in UE5: Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry, which frees artists to create as much geometric detail as the eye can see, and Lumen, a fully dynamic global illumination solution that immediately reacts to scene and light changes.

Also present in the demo are next-gen features already available in Unreal Engine 4.25, such as Niagara VFX improvements, Chaos physics and destruction, animation system enhancements, and audio advancements. Unreal Engine 4.25 also includes support for next-gen consoles.

  1. Looks amazing but so did the anthem trailer I won't be tricked twice I'll wait for the reviews this time lol.

  2. just wondering what was the file size of the demo trailer. Also if it is comparatively larger than normal 60Gb-100Gb PS4 games then it means the demo its a show case of functionalities. In actual game developers will be practical and will not go into designing games as detailed as this demo because of time, effort and money spent

  3. Garphics, shadows, textures look hilarious and cinematic, but the character still is plastic, movements are unnatural at times, walking looks like she's flying above the ground without touching it, when changing direction the character is quickly shift-turning instead of smooth turning like in real life and walking through water looked completely unreal. But overall it's awesome.

  4. Amazing, really amazing. But compare to the other things in the demo, the water and the scarf effect were weak.

  5. i´m impressed but not that much. The water simulation could be improved greatly and the character looks too cartoony.

  6. I know it says "running on PS5" but there are tons of people acting like PS5 will be the best based on graphics shown in this trailer, as if it wont run on the series x or PC. It looks great, just not exclusive to this console. also, series X is spec wise more powerful, so surely it will run better there? As well as that the new ampere GPU's release this year which will destroy the consoles, so surely this could be interpreted as how amazing the new graphics cards will be.

I don't want to ruin anybody fun, but buy the product not the brand.

  7. 1:10 They call this new technology the PS5. The demo is just down right amazing. So the X-Box SX will look like the PS4 & a PC5 will better than high end PCs for at least the next 2 to 3 years. Nothing is touching the PS5 for a long time. None of this demo would be able to play on the X-Box SX or a High End PC. The speed of the SSD in the X-Box SX and the fastest PC SSD cant render a lot of games fast enough because the PS5 SSD is more than double the speed of the X-Box SX.

     RIP X-Box, Microsoft Killed You.

  8. Bizimkiler başlamıştır yurtdışından getirtme planlarına 🙂
Fiyatını geçtim tam olarak kaç K televizyon lazım acaba?

  9. If it looks this good on PS5… i can’t imagine what it must look like on the Xbox Series X.. this is coming to Xbox as well and with all that extra power i can only imagine the graphics… beaitiful.

  10. 0:10 is anyone else slighted unnerved by the way he turns his head? Something about his chin and the way he squints seems to suggest "I really don't like this guy sitting beside me"
